Knowledge Walls
feedback • key takeaways • ideas
Knowledge walls are an interactive and very subtle way of getting feedback, ideas, or takeaways by engaging the audience to answer a prompt question. Then, our team members will draw their answers and give life to their ideas. You will end up with valuable information and a fun depiction of it.
By actively listening and synthesizing real-time discussions, we address challenges like miscommunication and disengagement, delivering visuals that keep your audience informed, attentive, and better equipped to act on meeting outcomes.

What is visual notetaking?
Visual notetaking, graphic recording, or scribing is the art of deep listening, making connections, synthesizing, and organizing all meetings’ key ideas and main points. All that is done on big sheets of paper or foam board live in real time!
When can one use visual notetaking?
Graphic recording or visual notetaking also serves keynote sessions, business meetings, strategic planning sessions, presentations, community events, discussion panels, interviews, and more. Our clients are Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations, government agencies, Universities, and small businesses.
Can you work digitally?
Yes! Our team has experience working digitally, both remotely and in person. If you’d like to project our live work on a screen or connect it to monitors scattered throughout the room, our digital notetaking services are perfect. Please reach out to us and let us know your event plans, and we will find the best way to support you in person or remotely.
How are we going to see the drawings in a virtual meeting?
On virtual meeting platforms like Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc., our team members show the visual notes being built in real-time by changing their video feed for the digital tablet, or you can spotlight their screen for all to see.
Do you work with pre-made visuals?
Yes! We create customized agendas, visual templates in various sizes and purposes, handouts, pre- and post-event communication pieces, flip charts, posters, and more. Let us know if you are interested in talking about those options or something else. It’ll be a pleasure to support your event visually.
How much does it cost?
Indeed, each project is unique and has nuances that require different levels of work. As a result, an accurate cost estimate is provided after a conversation with you and, when appropriate, your team, to understand the scope of work. However, we have a solid article on pricing on our blog. Please reach out to us to learn more and ask about our multi-day discounted rates.
What is included and not included in the quote?
The standard quote includes materials for the team members to draw with and on, digital images of the work produced, and brief and debrief meetings.
Local travel costs—mileage more than 40 miles out of the DC area and parking rates are not included in the quote.
When the capture is done using several foam boards, those are not included in the initial quote and will be billed separately with the receipt. Any materials for participants to use onsite, like sticky notes, markers, and printed templates, are also not included in the initial quote and will be billed separately with the receipt.
The final bill will include the service fee, travel costs, lodging, per diem, and expenses.
Do you travel?
Yes, our team members travel nationally and globally to bring services to where they are needed. Is it difficult to access or crazy expensive to get there? We can offer remote services as well.
What happens with the visuals at the end of the event?
The original artifacts will be photographed, and a digital image will be provided. The digital files can be sent to participants, uploaded into the intranet or website, used to print merchandise, thank you cards, and gifts, frame the keynote session as a gift to your speaker and make mugs, T-shirts, etc.
Is it distracting for the participants?
Professional visual notes are the best way to engage participants and provoke reflection about the content. If they are distracted by the chart, it’ll be within the content itself, increasing retention.
Can you work off of an audio, Zoom, or video recording?
Definitely! We will need an alignment meeting to discuss the content and the intentions to use it, but it is possible. We’ve done it several times.
My event has breakout sessions. How do you work?
The ideal scenario is to have one professional at each breakout session when they run in parallel. However, when all groups report out in plenary (for the whole group), our team member(s) will capture the results one group at a time.
How much space do you need to work?
There are different board sizes and, therefore, footprints in the room:
- 30 X 40-inch board: 60-inch wide x 60-inch depth
- 40 x 60-inch board: 80-inch wide x 60-inch depth
- 4 ft x 8 ft board: 10-ft wide x 4-ft depth
