Whatchamacallit

Definition:

Something hard to classify or whose name is unknown or forgotten

What is graphic recording?

Graphic recording or scribing is the art of deep listening, making connections, synthesizing, and organizing key ideas and main points of business meetings. Visual note-taking also serves keynote sessions, business presentations, community events, or discussion panels. All of that is done live in real time!

Everything on a page? How does that work?

The work is done on big sheets of paper or foam boards(different sizes, but regularly 4ft high X 8ft long/1.20 meters X 2.40 meters ). If a flat wall is unavailable, the graphic recorder will bring a portable wall or foam core boards on easels to work on and great water-based markers to draw with.

Can you work digitally? Would you be able to tell me how remote works?

Yes! Our team has experience working digitally. It can be both remotely and in person. If you’d like to project our live work on a screen or connect it to monitors scattered throughout the room, our digital notetaking services can do it too. Please reach out to us and let us know your event plans, and we will find the best way to support you.

My meeting is virtual. Can I have live scribing? Is that the same service?

Absolutely. Our team will engage and collaborate with the same attention and energy to make your virtual event memorable.

How are we going to see the drawings in a virtual meeting?

On the virtual meeting platform like Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc. we show the visual notes being built real-time, or we can spotlight our screen for all to see.

What happens with the visuals at the end of the event? Does the graphic recorder take them? How can we use the artifacts after the event?

We take pictures of the charts. Feel free to take the originals with you. You will receive all charts’ digitized images. As a matter of a fact, the originals or a print out are a great gift to keynotes or session leaders. You can display them or gift them to your sessions’ leaders. The visuals can be shared via email or intranet. The valuable information shared at the event will continue long after the session. The charts, or snippets of them, can make great marketing items or social media posts.
